In collaboration with Jacqueline Egger
The project aims at unraveling and exploring the concept of “the in-between” by examining and analyzing our transforming perceptions, the liminality of rituals and myths as constantly evolving in the form of languages, actions, gestures and movements. It is an attempt to interlace the notion of the in-between with reference to different moments confronted and intrigued by this concept: it is a collaborative artistic project with Jacqueline Egger, furthermore the mythological story of Narasimha Avatar – a liminal being in-between a human and an animal and finally the rituals that Rashmi grew up performing.
The collaboration with Jacqueline Egger tries to unravel these questions of transience, perception and transmutation. It has evolved into a series of drawings, stencils and performances. Jacqueline is visually impaired and lost her eyesight sixteen years ago. Unlike me Rashmi she perceives the world based on her sense of smell, hearing and intuition. Her perception is constantly oscillating in between the past where she could see and the present without it.
